Low Voltage Shade with High Voltage Performance—Low Voltage Motor-24 Volt Wiring

The FlexShade ST30 DC window shade offers a low-voltage motorized option with high voltage performance. It is available in 24V RTS, 24V dry contact, and 24V 485 platform technologies. The 24V RTS motor features wireless RTS control and is easily programmable. Home theaters benefit from the 24V dry contact’s simple relay control for low-voltage shades. The 24V 485 motor has the scalability to fit a project’s budget and needs for large commercial buildings.

Product Specs

Available in sizes 18-3/16" to 108" (46 cm to 274 cm) wide, depending on motor and fabric selection.

Quiet 24V motor that uses 24-volt wiring. Follow low voltage accepted practices for wiring.

Shade motor available in standard dry contact, radio frequency, and 485 platform technologies. Large commercial buildings can benefit from the 24V 485 motor’s scalability.

Transformer for plug and play option.

Multiple hardware options for surface mounting, including brackets (standard), fascia with endcaps, or headbox with closure.

Recess mount hardware includes pocket headbox or Pocket D headbox with tile lip. Where a pocket already exists a wall clip and closure are available with or without a tile lip.

Hardware finish choices: clear anodized (standard), black, white, ivory, or charcoal bronze. Custom powder coat colors available.

Compatible with "U", "H", and "L" channels for light-gap reduction.

Optional dual rollers available upon request.

Dual roller hardware components include: Dual Roller Endcaps, Dual Roller Fascia, and Dual Roller Pocket Headbox. Options may vary by product type. See technical documents for details.

ANSI/WCMA A100.1 Compliance

If clutch-operated roller shades are installed in an environment where it's possible that young children will be present, they should comply with ANSI/WCMA A100.1, the Standard for Safety of Window Coverings.

If the shades that you purchase need to comply with this standard, it is your responsibility to inform Draper and opt-in to receive compliant products at time of order.

Compliant window shades will include:

Pre-installed spring-loaded chain tension device with bead chain threaded through it
Approved permanent warning label attached
Approved mechanical fasteners for the tension device included

If the tension device is not installed properly, or becomes unattached from the mounting surface, the shade will be rendered partially inoperable. If installed properly, the tension device will prevent the creation of a hazardous loop and will maintain tension on the bead chain. The tension device and label require tools to be removed.

Testing

The testing required by the WCMA for products to comply with safety standard A100.1 includes:

UV stability testing - AATCC Test Method 16 for UV Stability
Impact testing - ASTM D5420
Bead chain durability testing
Operation cycle testing - 3,000 cycles per the standard

Our spring loaded tension device passed the requirements of these tests.
